SPARK
SPARK counts on family involvement and volunteers. There are a variety of ways you can do so!
Catechists: Each grade is assigned two catechists. Lessons/materials are provided to catechists as a basis for their gathering, but each team adapts the lesson as needed. Catechists are not expected to have any teaching experience or a degree in theology. Contact Fernanda Mucchiut if you would like to learn more about this role/assistant catechist/substitute catechist.
Parent Small Group Leader: Since Scripture reading and sharing/dialogue often takes place in small groups, each grade counts on at least one parent each time to be able to split the large group into smaller ones. Parents are asked to do it at least once a semester, but encouraged to do it more often since it is a very enriching experience for parents!
SPARK Special Events: Parents are encouraged to help plan and/or carry out the monthly or bimonthly special events, geared to the whole family.
VIRTUS training: ALL volunteers are required to complete the 3-hour training VIRTUS training for the Safe Environment for our Children program. Click here for courses offered by the Archdiocese and/or contact Leigh Holbrook for more information.
