Gus Godbee

Clayton Augustus Godbee (Gus) is a Decatur, GA native. For the past year, Gus has been the Choral Director at Parkview High School in Lilburn and is currently the Associate Director of the Decatur Avondale Children's Choir. Before that, he was Choral Director at Blessed Trinity Catholic High School in Roswell. Gus is a graduate of the University of Georgia with dual degrees in Vocal Performance and Music Education. He earned a Master's degree in Music Education from Auburn University with an emphasis in Choral Conducting. Gus is a member of the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) and the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA). For the past 15 years, Gus has sung on and off with the Atlanta Opera in the chorus and in featured Comprimario roles. After working in several local churches in directing capacities, Gus has most recently served as one of the staff cantors at the Cathedral of Christ the King here in Atlanta. Gus and his wife Melissa live in Decatur with their four daughters: Gretta, Willa, Mirra, & Poppea.
