The beauty and power of the Eucharist resides in the multiple ways Christ is present in the celebration of the Mass. We will explore the encounter with the Lord in the assembled people, presiding celebrant, proclaimed word, and shared sacrament as the source and summit of the entire Christian life as worship of God (Romans 12:1-2).
About the Speaker: Dr. Bruce Morrill, a Roman Catholic priest and Jesuit, holds the Edward A. Malloy Chair in Roman Catholic Studies at Vanderbilt University Divinity School. A scholar in liturgy and sacraments, he integrates systematic and historical theology, ritual studies, cultural anthropology, and biblical studies. Morrill has served as president of the North American Academy of Liturgy and vice president of the International Jungmann Society. In Nashville, he engages in pastoral liturgical ministry in prisons and serves as Spiritual Liaison for the Jesuit Volunteer Corps local community.
