Laudato Si' Book Study
Tuesday, January 14, 21, 28, February 4, 11, 18 at 7:30 pm in the Parish Library
The start of a new year is a wonderful opportunity for fresh beginnings and meaningful resolutions. If you’re looking to deepen your relationship with God and actively care for others and the Earth we share, we invite you to join our Laudato Si’ book study. Hosted by STM’s Care for Creation Team, this six-week study will explore Pope Francis’ encyclical, Laudato Si’, chapter by chapter, with opportunities for prayer, reflection, and group discussion.
The study begins on Tuesday, January 14, at 7:30 PM in the Parish Library. Together, we’ll journey through this powerful call to environmental stewardship and faith-filled action. As a culmination, participants are encouraged to attend Georgia Interfaith Power & Light’s Green Team Summit on Sunday, February 23, 2025, to gain further inspiration and insights from faith leaders and environmental advocates across Georgia. You’re welcome to participate in the book study, the summit, or both—whatever works best for you! Click here to register.
Hope: An Anchor in Today's World

A three-week Jubilee 2025 reflection series exploring the theological virtue of hope. Through the lens of a psalm, Pauline letter, and gospel passage, we'll discover how hope anchors our faith, guides us through challenges, and reveals God's loving presence in our lives. As we prepare for the Jubilee year as "Pilgrims of Hope," come explore this essential virtue so deeply needed in our world today. Click here to register.
Hope Is Here! (A Candler Foundry Course)
Thursdays, February 6-20, 2025, from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm
Joyful and daunting opportunities to live into God’s dream of justice and beloved community are compelling and available. Hope, says Luther Smith Jr., is essential to needed personal and social transformations. Smith describes how we truly perceive and join “the work of hope,” enlivening us to a life of personal fulfillment, justice, and beloved community. This book prepares us to engage challenges and delivers inner resources to work for change through its interpretation of hope. The fee is $49. Click here to register.
God's Divine Designs
Saturday, February 15, 2025, from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm
Take some time to slow down, to see the world more deeply, to recognize nature's beauty, and be inspired by creation. We’ll begin our mini retreat with prayer and guided meditation. Knowing God is in all things, we will explore some of the brilliance of God’s designs. We’ll learn about Hildegard of Bingen, a 12th-century mystic, healer, artist, poet, and musician, and how she expressed herself with circle-like structures that represent the interconnectivity of all creation. Then we’ll work with colored pencils, ink, and/or paint to make our own little creations. Our focus will be on the meditative process we enter into as we create. Not artistic? No problem! No artistic skills needed! The fee is $15. Click here to register.

We also include with our RCIA program the opportunity for adult Catholics to prepare to receive the Sacrament of Confirmation. The program begins with an inquiry phase that allows one to learn more about the faith before discerning whether to move forward with receiving the sacraments. The group gathers weekly in the Julie Room

Little Ways Playgroup
Inspired by the meditations of Saint Thérèse de Lisieux, Little Ways seeks to bring together mothers and their children in a community of faith formation and encouragement. In spite of the many competing demands on our time, Saint Thérèse reminds us that often the ways in which we can best serve the Lord are those which seem the most small. This group seeks to bring together mothers who are serving the Lord in what is perhaps our lives’ most important ministry, that of raising our children. We meet on the first Friday of each month from 9:00 am in the church nursery. To RSVP, email Megan Schellman at [email protected].
